About ISEFEOS

We are pleased to invite you to the the International Symposium on Economics, Finance and Econometrics (ISEFE 2019) to be held in Iskenderun, Hatay, Turkey on September 5-7, 2019.
The Symposium is jointly organized by Iskenderun Technical University, and Istanbul University.
The symposium aims at bringing together international researchers to present and discuss their researches and ideas, and create a research network for future joint collaborations.
We expect both theoretical and empirical submissions from a wide range of topics such as Economics, Finance and Econometrics.
The languages of the symposium are both Turkish and English.

About Hatay

Hatay is a city of peace, brotherhood and tolerance, which has hosted many civilizations with its rich cultural heritage. Its location and geography, the fact that it is one of the first settlements in the world, its climate and rich tourism wealth supports its toutism potential. 


Did You Know?

  • The province, where three divine religions and different sects live together, has “the first largest mosaic museum in the world”.
  • The first church in the world (Church of St. Peter) and the first mosque of Anatolia (Habib-iNeccar Mosque) are located in Antakya, the center of the province.
  • Hatay is one of the 26 gastronomic cities declared by UNESCO.
  • The world’s largest museum hotel is located in Hatay.
  • Hatay is the first settlement of Jews in Anatolia.
  • The first street to be illuminated in history, “Kurtuluş Street”, is located in Antakya.
  • The only Armenian Village of Turkey, Vakıflı Village, is located in Samandağ county.
  • It is among the 15 provinces under the Brand City Project of Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
  • Hatay, where many civilizations lived and whose cuisine culture affected by this diversity, is one of the special gastronomy areas of Turkey. There are many unique elements of Hatay cuisine. This cuisine, having about 460 food varieties, has over 200 distinctive food varieties of its own.
  • The fact that the people in Hatay can speak Arabic makes the province attractive for Middle Eastern tourists.
  • Such traditional handicrafts as sericulture and silk weaving, wickerwork, mosaic, reed production, sculpture, glasswork and numismatics are performed in Hatay.

REGISTRATION FEE

FOR ORAL PRESENTATION

Fee for the first 10 international participiants will be free. For the remaining partipiciants, fee will be $65 / €65 / 350 TL, you can submit maximum two papers. You can pay the fee at the registration table by the Lunch time of the first day. The fee includes:

  • Symposium program booklet, E-Book of abstracts and E-Proceedings
  • Certificate of Attendance
  • Name tag
  • Admission to all scientific sessions in the congress
  • Symposium Gala Dinner
  • Lunches
  • Tea, Coffee and Treats

FOR POSTER PRESENTATION

Participant fee is $30 / €30 / 150 TL, You can present two posters. You can pay the fee at the registration table  by the Lunch time of the first day. The fee includes:

  • Symposium program booklet, E-Book of abstracts and E-Proceedings
  • Certificate of Attendance
  • Name tag
  • Admission to all scientific sessions in the congress
  • Symposium Gala Dinner
  • Lunches
  • Tea, Coffee and Treats

FOR VIRTUAL/ONLINE PRESENTATION

Free for the first 20 international participants. After that, registration fee will be $10/€10. The fee includes:

  • Symposium program booklet, E-Book of abstracts and E-Proceedings
  • Certificate of Attendance

They will be posted to every online presenter after the conference.

AUTHOR’S GUIDE FOR ABSTRACTS 

  • Abstracts can be written in Turkish or English.
  • Abstract should be 400 words maximum.
  • Maximum 3 Jel codes should be included in each manuscript. Jel codes can be obtained from  https://www.aeaweb.org/jel/guide/jel.php
  • Maximum 4  keywords should be specified.
  • References should not be included in the abstract.
  • The abstracts presented at the symposium will be published in “Symposium Abstracts Book”.
  • You cand your abstract via http://isefeos.org/openconf/ or by sending to isefe@istanbul.edu.tr address by email.

GUIDE FOR POSTERS: 

  • Each poster is displayed in one hour session and the presenter should stand by poster during the session for discussion.
  • Dimensions for the posters are 80 cm (width) x 110 cm (height). 
  • You should handover the poster to the organizing committee at the registration table by the Lunch time of the first day.

AUTHOR’S GUIDE FOR FULL PAPERS

  • Full texts can be written in Turkish and English languages.
  • Full texts should be prepared as an MS Office Word document and sent to isefe@istanbul.edu.tr address by email.
  • Full texts should not be more than 10 pages.
  • Full texts should be prepared in justified form with all margins 2.5 centimes using 12 pt. font size and Times New Roman font.
  • The title of the full texts should be in Turkish and English, in 14 pt. font size, bold and justified with first letters in capital and the others in small letters. The titles of the subdivisions should be in 12 pt. font size, bold and justified with first letters in capital and the others in small letters.
  • The Turkish and English abstracts of maximum 200 words should be included in full texts.
  • Maximum 3 Jel codes should be included in each manuscript. Jel codes can be obtained from  https://www.aeaweb.org/jel/guide/jel.php. (11 pt.)
  • Maximum 4  keywords should be specified in both Turkish and English with the italic format. (11 pt.)
  • The shortcuts in the full text should be identified in the first mentioned place and used consistently with the rest. 
  • All attributions and references should be prepared according to APA (American Psychological Association).
  • The titles of the Tables and Graphs used in the full text should be above, numbered and 12 pt. font size. Inside of the Tables and Graphs should be in 11 pt. font size.
  • References used in the full text should be according to writing rules at the end of the paper with title “References”.
  • The full texts presented in the symposium will be published in “Symposium Full Texts Book”.
